L'Institut pluridisciplinaire Hubert Curien (IPHC) est un laboratoire de recherche du CNRS et de l'Université de Strasbourg, implanté majoritairement sur le campus de Cronenbourg. Cette unité mixte de recherche (UMR 7178) rassemble 400 techniciens, ingénieurs, chercheurs et enseignants-chercheurs qui développent des activités en physique subatomique, chimie et biologie. Sa dimension pluridisciplinaire lui permet d'aborder de manière complète et pertinente les questionnements universels actuels.
La force de l'IPHC réside dans les programmes pluridisciplinaires qui ont su se développer avec pertinence tout en continuant de mener des recherches au plus haut niveau international dans les domaines scientifiques de chaque département. Les développements en instrumentation sont le fer de lance de l'institut, et la forte proportion de personnels techniques et administratifs (plus de 40 %) assure un impact considérable sur les projets scientifiques grâce à leur expertise et leur réactivité.
Avec une moyenne de plus de 400 publications par an et près de 100 doctorants et 200 stagiaires accueillis chaque année, l'IPHC est un laboratoire dynamique et attractif. C'est l'un des plus importants laboratoires de l'Université de Strasbourg, par sa taille et par sa production scientifique. Son émargement à 6 composantes universitaires et 3 écoles doctorales lui confère un positionnement de premier ordre.
