Descriptif :
The Algebraic Geometry and Information Theory Applications team of the University of French Polynesia is a team accredited since 2004.
This team gathers researchers in mathematics around topics closely related to the information theory. Applications of this theory increasingly have a visible impact on everyday life: smartcards, banking security, Internet, RFID... This laboratory participates in the improvement of transport and information monitoring systems through its involvement in research topics involving cryptology and the theory of codes, by mainly using mathematical tools based on algebraic geometry and the theory of numbers. It is part of the wider context of the acquisition process and popularization of new technology in a global context of development, directly involving French Polynesia and the Pacific, notably for its economic, social and cultural development.
